We've partnered up with Faithful Friends to give some of their longest staying felines some TLC. Long term stay at a shelter can cause anxiety, and social isolation which can affect physical and emotional health. We've been asked to help keep these kitties socialized with love and kindness. Note: Please wear closed-toe shoes, any Journey Serve shirt and pants you are comfortable getting fur on. *DISCLAIMER: We do not recommend anyone with Cat Allergies to attend. *Kid Friendly*
We will packing as many as 350 co-ed hygiene kits that will be provided to the Red Clay Consolidated School District to supplement the Puberty Education Curriculum they are providing to 5th grade students throughout the district. Items may include but are not limited to: Dental hygiene care, Shower gel, Hair care, Deodorant, Feminine products, etc. Be a part of ensuring that all students have access to education and resources to support them on their personal hygiene care journey. This will take place immediately following the 11am gathering.
Come out to Knollwood Community and assist with cleaning up and getting ready for Knollwood Community day. You will be on hand to pick up trash, clean inside community center and organize food closet. When cleaning is complete we will walk around community to distribute flyers.
In partnership with Blessing of Hope and Convoy of Hope, The Journey will be distributing over 20K lbs of food. During this event Journeyers who serve will help with greeting, traffic control, holding signs, and loading of cars with food. This is a very family friendly event, and children may participate if supervised by their parent/caregiver.
